Can You Zipline at Night?
While not all outfitters offer night zip options, there are outfitters like Canaan, that allow you to zip through the trees at night! Canaan began night zips in 2011 and we’ve been running them every November since. Zip lining at night creates a new twist on an already awesome experience. Besides being dark, how is the experience different?
One big difference you’ll notice early on is you don’t feel as high up as you would during the day. With it being dark, you can’t tell how high up you are, allowing some with a fear of heights to enjoy zip lining. With height less of a concern, you get to focus on the ride.
And let’s not forget the s’mores!! Guests who arrive 30 minutes prior to the night zip are treated to a fire and complimentary s’mores before their tour!
How do I know when to brake?
Instead of using hand signals, we utilize red flash lights to let you know when to begin braking. Like the hand signal, braking with a light gets easier each time you do it. By the end of the tour, you’ll be a zip line braking pro!
Will I be able to see anything?
Yes! We’ll give you several glow sticks to wrap through your helmet, wear as a bracelet or necklace, or even wrap it through your shoe laces. It’s a big help when you can see where the other guests are! Should I dress differently for a night zip?
You’ll still need to dress according to our requirement which can be found here. But it’s always wise to dress for the weather! For our tips and tricks on zip lining in cold weather, read our blog post “how to enjoy zip lining when it’s cold.”
Night zips are a fun way to add a new perspective to an already exciting experience. And zip lining is always fun as a group get together! So, grab some friends and join us this November for an unforgettable night time experience!
